Jane began her veterinary career in rural mixed practice in Clare, South Australia. She followed her interest in Equine Medicine to Goulburn Valley Equine Hospital, Shepparton, and then Ross Teitzel’s racetrack practice, Flemington. In 1996, Jane headed to USA and spent three years at the University of Pennsylvania’s New Bolton Center as a resident and lecturer in Large Animal Medicine where her work involved both adult and neonatal intensive care. Jane joined Scone Equine Hospital in 1999 as director of Scone Equine Hospital Intensive Care Unit, Clovelly.

Jane is a registered specialist in Equine Medicine and has numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals, conference proceedings and veterinary textbooks. She is a well renowned local and international speaker on foal medicine and intensive care. Jane’s interests are in neonates, ultrasonography, equine emergency and critical care and teaching. She is actively involved in the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists and Equine Veterinarians Australia, and she regularly mentors interns and fellowship candidates.

The SEH has five Specialists in Equine Medicine or Surgery and a number of highly experienced senior veterinarians. Their skills and experiences cover all disciplines of equine veterinary science.

Scone Equine Hospital aims to provide dedicated expert care, service and professional leadership in equine veterinary practice. We provide practical clinical training for 30-40 veterinary students and veterinarians and up to 60 veterinary nurses each year.
